Bitrix24 vs. HubSpot - which is better and what is the difference

Bitrix24 and HubSpot are both well-known and offer a wide range of similar functions, but there are some differences in real-world use, which we’ll describe here.

Features

Bitrix24 and HubSpot have a pretty similar set of features, such as a CRM (for storing client’s information), communication tools (for sending and receiving emails, calls, SMS, and chat messages), product catalogs, website building, workflow management, and a new addition – AI assistants. While there are significant differences in design, it's difficult to say that there is a feature in one that is completely absent in the other. In our opinion, HubSpot offers a better web builder, whereas Bitrix24 provides better team communications and automation capabilities.

Pricing

Bitrix24 has a package license model where you pay for editions with 5, 50, or 250 users, with varying functions between editions. All editions include CRM, collaboration tools, task management, marketing features like email subscriptions, and a website builder.

The cheapest Bitrix24 cloud edition costs $49 per month, includes 5 users, and offers most CRM features but minimal automation and no outbound marketing features. The per-user price for this edition is about $10. The most popular Standard edition costs $99 and includes most features and 50 users, making the per-user price about $2.

HubSpot uses a per-user and per-function group (hub) model. The minimal tariff, Starter Customer Platform, costs $15 per user and includes Marketing Hub Starter (like Bitrix24 marketing & contact center but with a 1,000 contacts limitation), Sales Hub Starter (like Bitrix24 CRM), Service Hub Starter (an exclusive feature), CMS Hub Starter (like Bitrix24 website builder), and Operations Hub Starter (workflow and automations). These features have limitations in functionality and resource volume.

Outside the Starter Customer Platform, users need to pay for each hub separately, at least $15 per hub per user per month. The edition like Bitrix24 cloud Standard costs from $60 per user per month.

Upper editions of HubSpot offer many features but are significantly more expensive compared to Bitrix24. For example, HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional costs from $880 per user per month, HubSpot Content Hub from $490 per user per month, and HubSpot Operations Hub from $790 per user per month. One seat in this case will cost more than $2,000 per user per month, while the Bitrix24 upper cloud edition - Enterprise costs $399 per month and includes 250 users, making the per-user price $1.6 per month.

Free editions

Both Bitrix24 and HubSpot have free editions, but their capabilities differ. In HubSpot, most features are available in the Free Tools edition but are limited in resource volume, such as the number of connected mailboxes (one per user), emails sent per month (less than 1000), and custom fields in entities. Functional restrictions mostly apply to Sales Hub and Operational Hub enterprise-level functions.

Bitrix24’s free edition has more strict limitations. Mailbox connection, sites, automations, workflows, and marketing features are restricted. Some CRM entities, like leads, invoices, quotes, and smart processes, are also unavailable. Only chat and social network integration are available to establish communications with clients in this version. However, unlike HubSpot Free Tools, Bitrix24’s internal AI assistant “CoPilot” is available in the Free edition.

So, Bitrix24’s free edition is better for team collaboration, but not for customer management. Note that exporting CRM data is also not available in Bitrix24 Free.

Integrations

Since HubSpot primarily targets the US market, it is better connected to other American IT products and offers much more integrations than Bitrix24. For example, HubSpot integrates with LinkedIn, Canva, Google Search Console, and Webflow, which Bitrix24 does not, and has better integrations with Gmail and Office365. On the other hand, Bitrix24 also integrates with major social networks like Facebook and Instagram, accounting systems like QuickBooks and Lexoffice, and integration hubs like Integromat, Make.com, and Zapier, allowing connections with all products that don’t have direct integrations.

On-premise versions

Both Bitrix24 and HubSpot have cloud versions, but Bitrix24 also offers an on-premise (self-hosted) edition. This version is more suitable for large companies, as it allows full control and customization, including user interface changes since its source code is available for editing (though not open source like some other CRM systems’ community editions).

Bitrix24 on-premise is also more stable if you use extensive customizations compared to cloud versions. Its price is higher than the cloud edition, but the pricing model is different, and license renewal is only 50% of the license cost.

Development and customization

Both Bitrix24 and HubSpot offer limited opportunities to customize their products. Users can add custom fields and entities to manage their data and minimally customize the interface. Both systems provide a REST API for developing external apps and integrating with other systems. Bitrix24’s on-premise version also offers full customization possibilities, including changing the system source code.

According to Upwork data, HubSpot developers charge an average of $30 per hour, but US-based high-qualified developers charge $100-120 per hour. Bitrix24 developers charge an average of $40 per hour, with high-qualified developers charging $60-70 per hour. Official partners charge approximately twice the freelancer’s rate. Some Bitrix24 partners offer free development services (free hours) with license purchases.

Migrating

Both HubSpot and Bitrix24 have applications to migrate data from other CRM systems like Zoho, Salesforce, and Pipedrive. However, they can only migrate data such as client’s and company’s tables, deals, leads, quotes, and invoices. Automating the migration of letters and calls is problematic, and migrating workflows and customizations is impossible for both. In Bitrix24, automated migration is available only on paid plans.

Conclusion

Bitrix24 and HubSpot both offer comprehensive CRM solutions with a variety of features, but they cater to different needs and budgets. Bitrix24 is generally more cost-effective for larger teams and offers extensive features at a lower per-user cost, especially in higher-tier plans.

HubSpot is more cost-effective for micro-teams of 1-3 employees (e.g., for 2 users per month - from $30 for HubSpot and from $50 for Bitrix24). However, for larger teams, Bitrix24 is cheaper (e.g., for 10 users per month - from $99 for Bitrix24 and from $150 for HubSpot). So, HubSpot, while more expensive for larger teams, is ideal for small teams working on the US market.
